Privacy & Terms
Last updated September 26, 2026
The Living Mirror ("The Living Mirror," "we," "us") lets people record their own answers to questions and share an interactive video "Mirror" that family and friends can ask questions of. Every answer is a real recording of a real person , nothing is generated or synthetic. These policies explain how we handle your information, the terms of using the service, and how refunds work. Questions? Email hello@thelivingmirror.co.
Privacy Policy
What we collect
- Your recordings. The videos you record and the questions they answer.
- Account details. Your email address, the display name you choose, and your Mirror's link.
- Payment details. Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not see or store your full card number; we keep a record that a payment was made and your plan status.
- Basic usage data. Anonymous counts such as page views and questions asked, so we can improve the service. On our marketing pages we use the Meta (Facebook) advertising pixel to measure our ads.
How we use it
- To build, host, and run your Mirror so you and the people you share it with can use it.
- To process your payment, send you sign-in links and service emails, and provide support.
- To measure and improve the service and our advertising.
We use your recordings only to run your Mirror. We never sell your recordings or personal information, and we don't use your recordings to train any AI model.
Who we share it with
We share data only with the service providers we need to run The Living Mirror, and only for that purpose: Stripe (payments), Amazon Web Services (secure file storage), Resend (email delivery), our hosting provider (Akamai/Linode), and Meta (advertising measurement on our marketing pages). Your Mirror is private and unlisted , it is visible only to people you share your link with.
Your choices & your control
- Delete anytime. You can delete any recording, or your entire Mirror and account, at any time from your studio. Deleting removes your recordings and clips from our servers.
- Access & correction. Email us to access, correct, or export your information.
- Cookies. We use essential cookies to keep you signed in and, on our marketing pages, the Meta pixel. You can decline non-essential cookies in your browser.
Retention
We keep your recordings for as long as your Mirror is active (see Refunds & Guarantee for what happens if a plan lapses). When you delete a recording or your account, it is removed from our active systems.
Children
The Living Mirror is intended for adults (18+). If you record a child, or gift a Mirror to be recorded by someone else, you are responsible for having the right to do so and for any required consent of the people recorded.
Terms of Service
The service
The Living Mirror provides tools to record your own answers and to host an interactive video Mirror. Answers are authentic recordings of real people; the service does not generate or synthesize speech or likeness.
Eligibility & your account
You must be at least 18 to buy or hold an account. You are responsible for your account and for keeping your sign-in link and password (if you set one) secure.
Your content & ownership
Your recordings are yours. You grant us a limited license to store, process, encode, and serve them only as needed to run your Mirror and provide the service. You represent that you have the right to make and share your recordings, and that anyone who appears in them has agreed to be recorded. When you buy a Mirror as a gift, the recipient records their own answers and agrees to these terms when they set up their Mirror.
Acceptable use
Don't use the service to upload content you don't have the right to, to impersonate someone, or for anything unlawful. We may suspend or remove content or accounts that violate these terms.
Plans, payment & renewals
Plans are sold as a one-time payment that includes a full year of hosting (or a one-time Lifetime purchase). There is no automatic recurring charge. After your year, renewing is optional; renewal is a separate one-time payment at the then-current renewal price. If you do not renew, your Mirror is paused and kept private, and your recordings are retained so you can reactivate by renewing. Prices may change, but a change will never affect a term you've already paid for. Payments are handled by Stripe.
Disclaimers & liability
The service is provided "as is." We work hard to keep your Mirror available and your recordings safe, but to the fullest extent permitted by law we are not liable for indirect or consequential damages, and our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Keep your own copies of any recordings that matter to you.
Changes & governing law
We may update these terms; we'll change the "last updated" date above and, for material changes, let you know. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Georgia, USA. Continued use after an update means you accept it.
Refunds & Guarantee
30-day money-back guarantee. If The Living Mirror isn't right for you, email hello@thelivingmirror.co within 30 days of your purchase and we'll refund it in full , no questions asked. This applies to Individual, Family, and Lifetime purchases, and to renewals.
